Practice • Beware of the trap of “I wanted to write a short paper but only had time to write a long one!” • Less is more. • The discussion and guidance from the Board is more important than the paper or presentation. • Be clear what you are asking from the Board. • Use a clear template: Background, Introduction, Executive Summary, What the Board is being asked to do. • Using a Section 172 Companies Act 2006 Checklist. Action plan • Clear insight on how to write effective Board papers and presentations. • More effective communication between management and the Board.
