Building resilience and capability: Shaping the future of Morgan Sindall Construction
I didn’t hear one person complain. Everyone was really open and able to give insights into what was working and what wasn’t. They want the business to get better, they’re willing to contribute, and they just want to help. Morgan Sindall has a very flat hierarchy, which allows people in the business to communicate more freely. In the long run, as they start to really shape and embrace decentralisation, then I think that will stand them in good stead and they will just go from strength to strength. They are happy to turn down work if they think it isn’t good work – they’re not driven by profit. Yes, they’ve got figures they would like to achieve, but they’re not selling. They’re doing great work with great people, because they know that every piece of work they win they can deliver to the best of their ability.
