Management courses

We are dedicated to creating responsible management thinking, improving business performance and inspiring the next generation of business leaders. Our management master’s programmes will equip you with the breadth of skills and practical capabilities to enable you to make a real impact in your career. Our faculty are leaders in their field with hands-on business experience; they understand the challenges of putting theory into practice. Their experience is reinforced by close links with organisations through consultancy projects, teaching on executive development programmes and sponsored research. Cranfield’s influence stretches around the globe. Our alumni have taken the knowledge and skills they acquired here and used them to build new businesses, to conceive new solutions to real-world problems, to forge and energise teams and to help transform organisations in diverse industries and sectors. These four full-time courses have been designed in partnership with international employers from across industry: Management Benefit from a distinctive blend of theory with practical application through highly-experiential simulations, consulting, competitions and project work. You will have the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience at a company during a three-month, in-company internship project. MSc Management and Entrepreneurship This MSc course not only provides essential management skills but also cultivates an entrepreneurial mindset and the skills needed to launch and scale a business venture, innovate within an existing company, or support and invest in entrepreneurial businesses. For their thesis, students can develop, refine and validate their business or growth plans. MSc Management and Corporate Sustainability Provides you with the same practical core management training as the Management MSc. It adds a specialism in sustainability which focuses on how organisations thrive and make a difference in a rapidly-changing world by addressing social and environmental objectives as well as economic ones. MSc Management and Human Resource Management Equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to prepare you for managerial roles, with a specific focus on the Human Resource Management function. You will learn about the management of organisations, focusing in particular on the management of human resources and the changing external environment in which they operate. MSc

Course structure Our master's courses combine compulsory and elective modules which include lectures, practical work and site visits. You will also complete an individual thesis project. The final thesis element of the Management MSc requires you to undertake a major research project, normally in association with a three-month internship placement with a partner company.

Course activities Management MSc

In addition to having the opportunity to undertake a three-month internship project, the course features the unique opportunity to spend one month in Spain where you will study two compulsory modules: Effective Cross-Cultural Management and Management Consulting. During the Management Consulting module, you will gain invaluable practical experience, working in teams on a real-life business problem from a company. Management and Entrepreneurship MSc This course aims to enhance your entrepreneurial and analytical skills to prepare you to operate effectively in various settings, such as startups, family-owned businesses, social ventures, and corporations, as well as within the early-stage investment ecosystem. We offer a structured curriculum with specialised modules, supplementary activities, and networking opportunities. Our supplementary events are tailored to support your learning, including international conferences like the EU Startup Summit in Barcelona, Firechat sessions with entrepreneurs, investors, and other experts, and pitching events and competitions. Moreover, we provide you with the opportunity to attend the Entrepreneurship Speaker Series, where you can learn from renowned entrepreneurs and mentor-led Startup Weekends. Management and Corporate Sustainability MSc You will take part in a series of seminars with specialists in the field, which provides valuable insight into sustainability in practice. You will also have the opportunity to network at corporate sustainability related events which have included practitioner conferences such as the edie Sustainability Leaders forum in London. The Creating Sustainable Organisations and Social Entrepreneurship modules both involve consulting with companies on their current challenges. You also have the opportunity to attend workshops, be a part of various industry-led, sustainability-focused competitions and be an active part of the Sustainability Network speaker series of events and talks with experts which happen throughout the year. Management and Human Resource Management MSc The course offers a highly practical learning experience. You will be co-taught by a world-leading faculty and senior HR leaders. You will work on authentic HR consulting projects guided by Perry Timms, the No.1 influential HR thinker. You will join our monthly HR Speaker Series where you will hear from inspirational global HR leaders. By joining the Charted Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) community, you will have access to the annual student conference, webinars and in-person events. You will also be mentored by local HR professionals. Our study visit in Term three will also give you a valuable opportunity to put your module learnings into practice in the real world. Careers

Academic staff Our faculty are renowned in their field, with broad industry experience. They work with operating boards of numerous global businesses, ensuring that their lectures are contemporary and stimulating. They are supported by a team of visiting speakers and professors from around the world.

Professor Michael Dickmann, Chair of International Human Resource Management Michael has conducted international consulting and research with leading multinational organisations. He has also consulted for humanitarian agencies, Government and the United Nations. Michael is the Editor of the International Journal of Human Resource Management and lectures in international and strategic human resource management. His research focuses on HR strategies, structures and processes within multinational organisations, international mobility and global careers. Dr Oksana Koryak, Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, Director of the Management and Entrepreneurship MSc Prior to academia, Oksana held various client-facing roles in corporate and investment banking, originating and executing complex transactions to finance large media and infrastructure projects, corporates and leveraged buy-outs. Oksana’s research focuses on growth, entrepreneurial leadership and capability development in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Her research is published in the Research Policy and International Small Business Journal , among others. Dr Namita Shete, Lecturer in Sustainability, Director of the Management and Corporate Sustainability MSc Through her work, Namita is interested in uncovering how businesses address sustainability within their own operations and also take a stand, collaborate and innovate to address the grand challenges facing the world today. She received her PhD from the University of Bath in 2019 and, for her research, studied Corporate Social Responsibility and its regulation. She has worked in diffferent roles within industry and the non-profit space before joing academia. Dr Mengyi Xu, Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Employment Relations, Director of the Management and Human Resource Management MSc Mengyi is a lecturer and researcher in the area of human resource management. Her main research areas of interest include; work-life balance, hybrid working, and the future of work. Mengyi’s projects are mainly partnered with the British Academy of Management, the UK Government and Brazil's Civil Service. She is an academic member of CIPD and a Council member of the British Academy of Management. She is also an external examiner on BSc HRM courses at universities in the UK and Malaysia. Prior to academia, Mengyi held various roles in the UK and China.

Accreditations Our Management MSc courses are Chartered Management Institute (CMI) dual accreditation degrees. You will have the unique opportunity to stand out from other management graduates by achieving CMI’s professional management qualification alongside your Cranfield degree. The Management and Human Resource Management MSc is also a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) accreditation degree.
